Lead is short for leadership and Sibanye Stillwater-Reldan relies on the leads for us to hit our commitments to our customers, our peers, our employees and our suppliers in all we do every day. Leads need to be a part of the team, as well as helping develop the team; they should be hungry (wanting to succeed in areas), humble (wanting the team to succeed, treating everyone professionally) and smart (knowing their department, shift, and building; doing the right things and not leaving a wake of destruction to get a job or task completed). You are the captain of your shift, in your department.

Morning shift: Working hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback on current day’s performance and pervious day to supervisor.
  • Monitor workload and flow and proactively resolve issues that arise.
  • Comply with company core values, certifications, policies, and procedures, always engaging with a positive attitude.
  • Communicate with counterparts throughout the day
  • Balance workforce throughout the day (speaking with Supervisor)
  • Attends onboarding training, departmental and plantwide training (virtual and in person); And pass a test at the end of the training when applicable.
  • Participates in safety committees, work safety observations and monthly safety training.
  • Able to wear full PPE personal protective equipment including respiratory protection, uniforms, safety shoes etc.
  • Responsible for complying with safety & quality work procedures & requirements throughout the plant.
  • Understands, supports, and executes all work in a safe manner and contribute to a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.
  • Stores materials in approved, designated spaces based on the job task.
  • Maintains efficient use of time and observes safe work practices.
  • Performs all assignments in accordance with safety specifications, instructions, and requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet operations standards on specific assignments within required time.
  • Reports for work on time to support startup and throughput goals.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.

Departmental Work Responsibilities:
  • Promptly unloads deliverables, sorting, stocking, and cataloging all receivables.
  • May need to operate a Forklift to manage the shipment and receipt of all inbounds and outbound.
  • Communicates with various departments regarding the shipment and receipt of materials.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials for compliance with ITAR, CTPAT, NAID and all applicable standards.
  • Verifying LIT #s, piece counts to the customer’s BOLs, packing list and all pertinent documentation.
  • Accurately labels and prepares materials for receiving and shipping accordingly.
  • Performs miscellaneous warehouse tasks and general housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Attends onboarding training, departmental and plantwide training (virtual and in person); And pass a test at the end of the training when applicable.
  • Participates in safety committees, work safety observations and monthly safety training.
  • Able to wear full PPE personal protective equipment including respiratory protection, uniforms, safety shoes etc.
  • Report directly to the Shipping and Receiving Manager for guidance and direction.
  • Records and logs final weights of inbound and outbound material.
  • Attends safety and other training sessions as required by company policy.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by cleaning areas between shifts.
Communicates effectively with supervisor, peers, and other departments

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, or 3 years of related industry experience.
  • One year of logistics, retail, or customer service experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic knowledge of using and operating warehouse machinery and equipment.
  • Previous Forklift experience and ability to achieve certification within 90 days of job entry date.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in data entry and general computer skills i.e., MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferred.
  • Prior experience of DOT, Hazmat and RCRA regulations preferred.
  • Able to read and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Basic arithmetic skills including adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
  • Quality control experience
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate is motivated and has high energy.
  • Ability to comply and utilize personal protective equipment based on work and area of work
  • Candidate must be able to lift, push, pull, or maneuver weights of up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to perform work during prolonged periods of standing (up to eight hours) is necessary.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motion is also required.
  • Ability to perform job requirements while in standing position.
  • Work is regularly performed within dust, and elevated noise environment.
  • Works in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to manually load and unload machines on a consistent basis.
  • Able to pass general physical requirements.
