We’re looking for a skilled and safety-focused Metal Furnace Operator to join our team. In this essential role, you’ll operate and control furnaces to melt non-ferrous metals in preparation for processing — ensuring every melt meets exacting quality and production standards.

Job Purpose

To operate and control furnaces for melting metals and ensure every melting operation meets required specifications, quality expectations, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate induction, gas, or electric furnaces to melt non-ferrous metals.

  • Monitor metal temperatures and visual indicators to achieve specified melting conditions.

  • Safely pour molten metal into molds or ingots and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.

  • Accurately record production data and enter information into the computer system.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company procedures.

  • Observe machinery during operation to detect irregularities or malfunctions.

  • Follow production schedules and meet operational and quality goals.

  • Complete maintenance requests or assist in minor repairs to ensure continuous and safe operations.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Previous experience in furnace or foundry operations preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments.

  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.

  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).

  • Proven commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures.

Compliance Requirements

Employment in this position requires compliance with NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) standards and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements. Candidates must meet all applicable compliance criteria to be eligible for employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly and safely.

  • Comfortable working in high-temperature environments.

  • Ability to bend, twist, and move consistently throughout the shift.

  • Regular exposure to dust, heat, odors, and noise.

  • Strong focus on safety and the consistent use of required protective gear.

Schedule

Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Location: Onsite only — collaboration and safety thrive in person.
