The Evaporation technician uses evaporation equipment to remove water from process sludge and neutralized process wastewater.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Chiseling and descaling of evaporation equipment
- Pumping and transferring of solution
- Monitoring evaporation equipment to maximize safety and efficiency
- Perform daily/weekly inspections of equipment as well as maintenance
- Collect dried material in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Lifting, carrying and maneuvering heavy equipment or drums
- Operating a forklift
- Weighing and recording weights into logbooks
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A high school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate
- The ability to comply with instructions in written, oral, and schedule form. Must read and comprehend manuals, inspection checklists, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and other work-related information
- Must be able to meet the needs of a physically demanding job which requires stamina and endurance
- Meet the requirements of the company safety program. Employees are expected to complete an annual training program and pass safety examinations
- Must be able to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers
- May be required to work at night and on the weekend
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work on one’s feet in a production environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lb
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Working Conditions
- PPE requirements: Gloves, boots, hearing protection, safety eyewear, respiratory protection
- Must tolerate elevated temperatures from hot equipment
Working Hours: Afternoon shift (1:30 PM - 10:00 PM)
Compliance: Be a US Citizen, US permanent resident, or Classified as a protected person. This position necessitates strict adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance. Candidates must meet ITAR requirements to be considered for this role and compliance with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program.
